Hypermiler MPG Tip To Increase Gas Mileage

Slow Down to Save Gas

You can become an instant member in the hypermiler mpg club just by using your brain.

This isn’t rocket science. The slower you accelerate and the slower you are able to drive, the less fuel you will use. It is a matter of using your brain and thinking ahead. Use patience and you will increase gas mileage.

Gas prices have every driver feeling the pressure these days. With gas prices continuing to soar upwards, no driver wants to have to visit the pump any more than they absolutely have to. That is why it is important to find easy ways that you can increase your fuel efficiency when driving, so you can save a little bit of gas in the process. After all, every little bit helps, right?

The best ways to save on fuel consumption when you drive are also quite often among the cheapest methods, as well. For instance, did you know that you can save on gas expenses simply by making a few small changes to your driving style? If this sounds too good to be true, do not worry! It is quite possible to increase your fuel efficiency quite dramatically, with even a few subtle changes to the way that you drive. Read on to find out just how you can accomplish these changes.

First of all, you should know that driving in excess of 55 miles per hour really eats up a lot of gas. If you compare your mileage when you are driving 55 miles per hour to your mileage when you are driving 75 miles per hour, you will see a drastic difference. Many experts have speculated that you use about 20 to 25 percent more fuel when you are driving 75 miles per hour, compared to what you would use if you drove at 55 miles per hour. That is why it is very important to consider going a little bit slower when you are driving on the highway or interstate road.

You can just smile as the cars race around you. You are saving money, saving gas and helping the environment. They are simply going to be bitching about how much they are paying at the pump.

It may seem like a bit of a chore to have to putt along at 55 miles per hour when everyone else is going 65 miles per hour (or even faster), but remember that you will still get to where you are going, and in the process you will save some money! If you are only going a short way, such as a one hour trip, you will only spend about ten extra minutes on the road. At that point, you have to decide for yourself whether getting to your destination a few minutes faster is worth paying a few extra dollars for fuel expenses to get there. If your trip is shorter, such as a thirty mile trip, going ten miles per hour slower will only cost you five minutes of driving time! Surely, you can afford an extra five minutes spent in the car!

It is important to note that you do not necessarily have to drive 55 miles per hour to get the benefits of increased fuel efficiency. Even if you slow down from, say, 65 miles per hour to 60 miles per hour, you will still save a bit of gas. You just will not save as much as you would have, if you had gone down to 55 miles per hour. However, any gas savings are better than no gas savings, so even if you can slow down just a little bit, you will be helping yourself out the next time you have to go to the gas station!

It is also important to remember that going slightly over 55 miles per hour does not cost you as much fuel efficiency as an increase in speed when you are already going quite fast. In other words, five extra miles per hour when you are already going 70 miles per hour will cause a more marked decrease in fuel efficiency than the difference experienced when you go five extra miles per hour over 55 miles per hour.

You won’t only enjoy increased fuel efficiency by driving slower. You will also avoid getting costly traffic tickets, which can often cost about two hundred dollars! Plus, you will be a safer driver, and more likely to escape a potentially deadly crash. If you want to save money at the pump, you should seriously consider slowing down your speed.

I hope you understand now that your brain or driving mentality is what will allow you to become a Hypermiler MPG club participant. Read more of the blog for further tips to save fuel.

Gas Saving Tires

Tires have a lot of impact on your gas mileage.

If you don’t know a lot about tire efficiency, you’re not alone. Most people don’t know that they are adding to their driving expenses by choosing tires that deliver poor fuel economy. There’s not a lot of information available about tire efficiency. And its difficult to know how to make your choice.

Hopefully, this will be soon be rectified, because the federal government has decided that tire manufacturers must start labeling tires for fuel efficiency. You can choose your gas saving tires by looking at a label. This program would create a national labeling system that would rate the energy efficiency of tires.

So far, however, there has been little progress made. Critics say the industry is stonewalling, but the tire manufacturers disagree. They say they have spent millions on research and development of more fuel-efficient tires.

The good news is that tires are much more efficient today than they were in 1975. Rolling resistance, (the power that is lost as rolling tires flex and change shape), has been reduced by as much as 50%. Radial tires have greatly improved tire efficiency, and there have been many advances in tread patterns and the use of new, lighter rubber compounds.

However tire efficiency can still vary a great deal, and fuel economy can be reduced. Industry experts expect the mandated minimum standards will go along way to help reduce the amount of gasoline used in the US.

You won’t have any way of knowing which tire will provide the most fuel efficiency until the minimum standards appear. For now, you should use these tips from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Keep your tires properly inflated according to the manufacturer’s recommended psi. Studies show that properly inflated tires can improve your mileage by 3.3%. Never test pressure in a hot tire in the summer or in a cold tire in the winter.

If you’re in the market for new tires, think about replicating your original brand and model. Auto manufacturers usually choose the most efficient tires possible for their new cars.

Avoid flashy wheels on your car or truck. Over sized wheels and rims weigh more, and wider tires have more surface area touching the road, creating more friction. Both reduce fuel efficiency.

Don’t replace tires until you have to. Worn tires are actually more efficient than brand new ones. Turn a penny so that Lincoln’s head is upside down, and then stick the penny in the groove of the tire tread. If you can see the top of his head, it’s time to replace the tires.

Don’t fill tires with nitrogen instead of air. There’s still no definitive data showing that filling tires with nitrogen improves either mileage or tire wear. Until the data is in, it’s probably not worth the extra expense.

If you notice that your tires are showing uneven tread wear, you might have alignment, balance, or parts issues. Take your car in for servicing. They will diagnose the problem.

If you live in a dry climate, don’t buy rain tires. Water-shedding or off-road tread patterns can burn more fuel. If you live in a snowy climate, buy snow tires and drive slow, both of which will increase efficiency when driving in the snow.

By choosing the right gas saving tires, you’ll be sure to improve your fuel efficiency. As prices continue to skyrocket, you’ll want to learn even more gas saving tips.

An Engine Powered By Water, is That Possible?

Let’s face it; all of us have heard about the rise of the price of oil. Very few of us would be able to handle just one more increase in price. It isn’t just gas, we are paying more for everything moved by gas. You may have heard of water powered cars and maybe you think that it is too good to be true. Don’t you think it would be great if it is true? Well, trust me on this. You do not need to wait another five to ten years for this to come true. Manufacturers have are building these cars now.

What Do You Have To Do For an Alternative Fuel Car System?

Many people think in order to run a car on water you must either be a knowledgeable mechanic or know someone else who works on vehicles. This couldn’t be further from the truth and to make it easier on you there are simple instructions for building hydrogen oxygen gas available where this can take minutes to put together.

The water for fuel system works on its own as soon as you put it together and after you add water to your electrolyzer hydrogen generator. Thus, it begins to work as a Hybrid Hydrogen Oxygen (HHO) once you start the engine. It is able to work because gas is able to be taken out of the water and used as an alternative fuel. Therefore, as you can see, this creates a domino effect within your engine thus, giving several benefits other than just saving gas.

So I Don’t Need Gas For My Car?

Don’t get me wrong. Of course you will still need to fill up your tank. But the catch is that the amount of gas used for driving will be significantly less. Almost most vehicles are able to run using the hydrogen system. Even huge vehicles like truck are able to run with the hydrogen system. According to people who actually turn their vehicle into hydrogen powered ones, you will notice a huge difference from the very first time the engine runs.

As you use the water powered vehicle, you will notice that not only will you be saving gas but you will also be able to increase your mpg with the same amount of gas. The increase can be anywhere from 25%-50%. However, you have to understand that most vehicles are different, therefore, results vary but rest assured; you will be getting positive results.

How Can Using Water for Fuel Help Your Engine

The answer to this isn’t rocket science. Since unburned gasoline creates carbon deposits this makes your vehicle run at more stressful levels then they are supposed to do. If you run a car on water your engine starts cleaning these out with basically a self steam-cleaning and starts to run on a new level. Once it starts, everyday you drive your car it continues to clean and helps keep it from having even minor issues.

Now that you are armed with this knowledge, you also have to understand how important it is today, to have your engine powered with water. I am sure you do not want to burn a hole in your pocket, paying a lot of money for fuel.

Gas is not going to get cheaper, ever. Learn to live with it by changing your habbits. Even way before gasoline hits $6 gallon we are all going to have to change our behavior when it comes to driving.

Right now, one possible solution that can help reduce what you pay per gallon is to partially start running your cars on water.

Oil supplies are being used up even while demand is growing around the world. We are rapidly approaching a time when the oil that can be pumped out of the ground is less than the world’s demand for oil. Hopefully long before that day arrives you might think back and laugh at the way we depended so long on oil.

The alternative energy supplies we have heard about for years are slowly developing but we need to be building lots of them right now. We must all start using less energy and less gas in any way we can before it all starts to run out.

Remember the newsreel shots of the blimp the Hindenburg bursting into flames and burning up with in seconds? It did that because it was filled with HYDROGEN. We were taught at school that water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen both of which burn. You just have to extract or separate them first before you can use the hydrogen for fuel. Hydrogen is a very good fuel so we could be trying to get the hydrogen out of water and use that as gas but it used to be thought too expensive.

Now hobbyists and engineers have developed easy to build systems that can make hydrogen gas from water. The gas can then be used as part of the fuel used to run your car engine.

They say that you can just buy the various parts at a local hardware store and assemble the kit in your garage. You then just spend a couple of hours fitting it to your car and you are ready to generate hydrogen gas from water.

It has always been a dream of engineers to be able to run a car on water and while you do still need to use normal gas in combination with these systems, using the hydrogen should give you better gas consumption.

Some of the claims made about these kits are remarkable. There are reports that people have increase mpg by 50% but even if it is just 10% or 20% that can add up over time.

Welcome to our new Increase MPG blog.

We will be talking about a wide variety of topics that relate to the high cost of gas and what you can personally do about it.

You don’t have to feel powerless. But you can’t sit around and wait for the government to come and save you by finding some miracle to drive down the cost of gas, ’cause it just isn’t going to happen.

Expensive gas is here to stay and this is actually a good thing. It means we, as a nation, will finally find a way to move on from the only true form of energy we know how to extract and use at a cheap cost.

It means that alternative forms of energy will become commercially viable. If we find a way to lower the price of gas, we will simply slide back into our old ways of consumption.

It can’t last. There is a finite amount of oil on this planet to use. The end times of oil has to come. Unfortunately it appears that we are living through it.

We have to change. If we don’t, what kind of world will our children be left with?
